Steven Kroll concentrates his practice on labor and employment law, business law, and litigation. He represents clients in various discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, breach of contract, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, defamation, and fraud actions. Steven practices in both the state and federal trial courts in California. He represents clients in matters pending in state and federal administrative agencies, including the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Steven also handles appeals before the California Courts of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Steven advises employers on all aspects of employment law, such as drafting employment policies and handbooks, implementing compensation and benefit plans, and handling employee discipline and termination matters. He gives sexual harassment and management trainings in a wide range of industries. Steven speaks at various human resources and employment law seminars and workshops throughout California.
While in law school, Steven served as a staff writer and then editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Samuel L. Bufford of the United States Bankruptcy Court.

● Represented a technology company in a wrongful termination in violation of public policy under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and California Family Rights Act case, pending in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the company.
● Represented a cosmetics company in a breach of oral and implied employment contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, violation of Labor Code § 203, common counts, quantum meruit, fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violation of Business & Professions Code § 17200 case, pending in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the company. Affirmed on appeal by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
● Represented a medical staffing company in a breach of contract, race discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy case, pending in the Santa Cruz County Superior Court. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the company.
● Represented a security guard company in a race harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy case, pending in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the company. Affirmed on appeal by the California Court of Appeal, Second District.
● Represented a construction management company in a wrongful termination in violation of public policy and breach of employment contract case, pending in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the company. Affirmed on appeal by the California Court of Appeal, Second District.
● Represented a homeowners association in a race harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy case, pending in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the HOA. Affirmed on appeal by the California Court of Appeal, Second District.
● Represented a technology company in a sexual harassment, failure to prevent harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, and battery case, pending in the Orange County Superior Court. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the company.
